IAR Mission and Goals

Islamic Academy of Riverside is committed to providing students with Sustainable Quality Faith Based Education that prepares students for the 21st century.
Our aim is to prepare students to effectively deal with the challenges of a modern technologically advanced society. The school seeks to develop in each student a positive identity as an American Muslim who is equipped physically, intellectually, and spiritually to compete in today’s world, and to establish within each student a strong commitment to family, community and humanity.
Our philosophy is based upon the “Developmental Approach” which entails teaching skills appropriate for the developmental age of each individual student in an active learning environment. Our teachers promote critical thinking and problem solving through experimentation, exploration and discovery. An emphasis on Islamic values and responsibilities as American Muslims help our students develop a positive self-image and prepares them with a confident American-Muslim identity

ii. Promote character development, we prepare students to become responsible citizens in our diverse society
iii. Ingrain a sense of God-consciousness that equips students to make sound decisions founded on Islamic principles.

iv. Inspire a dedication to community and social justice that will translate into positive social contributions.

v. Provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment that encourages children to fulfill their maximum potential.

vi. Provide the moral building blocks that will serve as the foundation of each child’s character.

vii. Strive to impart the skills needed for children to perfect their oral and written communication skills so that they become effective communicators.

viii. Provide instruction in the Arabic language that leads to optimal understanding of the Quran and the embracing of its values.

ix. Create an atmosphere that stimulates each child’s individual curiosity by means of critical thinking, problem solving, and intellectual reasoning.

x. Expose each child to a variety of subjects and various disciplines that lead them to develop an appreciation of the diversity in the arts, humanities, and sciences.

xi. Foster a climate in which children can acquire and develop social skills and learn to interact in a developmentally appropriate way.

xii. Create a network with parents and community to enrich and sustain children’s learning environments.

Hot Lunch will be served Monday- Thursday . Lunch will include a hot meal and juice. The lunch fee is $3.00 per meal.
